Members can publish their news and events directly to UKBAA’s website and raise brand awareness by
featuring in our online members’ directory, which receives over 100k unique visits per year.

Members receive invitations to exclusive investor events where they can network with angel investors, access
quality investment opportunities and find out about the latest technologies and innovations.

Dedicated technical support
Whether it’s about due diligence, the intricacies of EIS or help with an event, our experienced team, supported by

UKBAA provides market intelligence on key trends and new developments in the angel investment
landscape. We provide access to information and guidance for investors and entrepreneurs via our
website; and disseminate market updates via our regular e-newsletter and social media.

Access to quality investment opportunities
UKBAA members receive access to our DealShare platform, a members-only online marketplace
for the sharing and referral of deals. Members can publish part-funded deals on the platform
and invite other UKBAA member investors to join and close the deal.

Discounted networking opportunities
We partner with, support and host a wide range of industry-leading events across the UK. UKBAA members
receive priority access to free ticket allocations, VIP upgrades and member-only discounts. Our events
offer an exclusive forum to connect with all leading players in the investment community.

Quality assurance
Members may use and display UKBAA’s logo and thus align with industry best practice and the UKBAA code
of conduct, reinforcing their role and experience as a key player in the angel and early-stage market.

Training and professional development
UKBAA offers access to skills and training for new angels to enable them to become competent and effective
investors. This includes a new nationally accredited angel investing qualification and e-learning programme.

 

Membership Types

Individual angels

  • An angel investor, private investor or high net worth (HNW) individual
  • Can be a member of an existing syndicate, network or fund
  • Must be self-certified as an HNW or sophisticated investor

Angel syndicates

  • A small group from 2-50 investors
  • Investing either collectively or in smaller groups on an adhoc basis
  • Unregulated or regulated under the FCA
  • May also have an investment vehicle or sidecar fund

Angel networks and groups

  • A structured or constituted business angel group, generally with more than 50 investors
  • Can be investing through syndicates on an adhoc or regular basis
  • May be unregulated or regulated under the FCA
  • May also operate a sidecar or EIS/SEIS fund

Accelerators and incubators

  • A formally structured or constituted early-stage incubator or accelerator
  • May be offering a formal programme of mentoring and access to finance and/or workspace

Professional service associates

  • An organisation comprising between 1-500 employees
  • Offering services or activities of relevance to investors and/or may support growth of small businesses, including access to markets, innovation, infrastructure, talent or finance

Crowdfunding and online investment platforms

  • A structured regulated crowdfunding body, or online investment platform
  • Must be regulated under the FCA or relevant financial authorities (if not UK-based)
  • Offering equity investment, or may offer both equity and debt

Venture capital and investment funds

  • Operating or managing a fund
  • Investing in early-stage and expansion funding
  • Includes public or private funds
  • Including venture capital, private equity, family office, co-investment funds, VCTs, EIS and SEIS funds
  • UK-focussed or investing internationally

Corporates

  • Corporate membership is aimed at large leading players in their industry with the capability and objective to play a significant role in the angel and early-stage investment market
